Who wants to watch meteors burn up in our atmosphere?
Lyrid Meteor Shower is passing through the Earth's atmosphere from 16th to 25th of April. Jr High Ministry will be heading to Joshua Tree National Park for the night to camp, make s'mores, hike around, fellowship together and watch massive space rocks burn up in our atmosphere. This trip is open to ALL Jr High Boys!
Joshua Tree National Park - This will be the first time that JHM goes to Joshua Tree for our boys trip but Pastor Cameron has been to Joshua Tree dozens of times and had HS guys join him for fun overnight trips.
What to bring - Change of clothes, SNACKS, bibles, JOY, toiletries (deodorant, toothpaste, and brush), bring money for lunch going up and coming down, sleeping bag, pillow, water bottle for refilling, etc NOTE: The lows can get to the 40s at night so be sure to have a properly rated sleeping bag, most sleeping bags are rated for 30s and 40s but just be sure! The tag on the sleeping bag should tell you
We will be camping, please let me know if you have a tent we can borrow. Please do not feel the need to purchase a tent, we will borrow tents and the boys will tent together in what is made available.
Basic Plan April 23rd - Leave CCCM at 12 pm - Lunch at IN N OUT (bring money) - Get up to Joshua Tree and settle in - Adventure around - Cook dinner - Play games till the moon sets for best views - Star Gazing
24th - Breakfast at campsite - Adventure around, play games, hang out - Lunch (bring money) - Head back home - Get home around 3-5p - Join our Remind app text group to stay up to date on our return time.
JHM Student Activity Waiver - This online waiver is valid from Summer 2020 to Spring 2021, if you filled one out this past summer or winter then you are good to go!
